Wellness is not a concept that should only be applied at an individual level. Wellness is a continuous process that should be offered to all people, regardless of physical or emotional circumstance. It should be an integrated effort in helping people improve all five dimensions of being: physical, emotional, mental, social and spiritual.
Core Wellness Centre uses the Primus RS to evaluate, rehab and track progress of your program. We will put you through a series of tests on the Primus RS to get baseline measures to track your performance and progression through the program. We will also look at any weakness that could be contributing to your individual situation whether it be an old injury that keeps reoccurring or a stroke. We will test the surrounding muscle to determine which muscles need rehabilitation/to be improved. The Primus works out the maximum force (maximum strength), the power generated in Watts, the endurance of the muscle (calculated by the degrees of distance and the time of the test). We compare the right side to the left making the testing specific to your body at that time. The primus to target and isolate the weaknesses or problem areas found to help speed up the recovery process comparing the results from the previous session giving you that added motivation to keep up the good work. For more information on the Primus RS, please visit the website here.

Sports massage is commonly used to improve athletic performance, help prevent injuries and shorten recovery time after an injury. Sports Massage may be used before training or competition, during or post training or competition. The main purpose of sports massage is to help alleviate stress and tension which builds up in the body’s soft tissue during physical activity. The massage will relieve swelling, reduce muscle tension and promote flexibility and prevent injuries. Regular sports massage restores length and suppleness of muscles and aids in circulation of blood and nutrients.

This is an energy treatment that brings balance to the body and mind. We are all made of energy and when we are ill, not sleeping, stressed etc. it makes sense that there is an imbalance. This treatment is done lying down, fully clothed whilst I work over the body letting the healing Reiki energy flow through my hands. Each treatment is different and people feel a number of sensations but it is always a deeply relaxing, cleansing experience.

Deep-tissue massage is a specific type of massage therapy that concentrates on the deep layers of muscle and fascia in the body. The pace used is usually slower than that of other massage work, this enable the therapist to pick up information from the client’s tissues, assess the best way to address the tension and contractions found, and apply careful and sensitive pressure in order to achieve a comfortable and lasting release. This type of massage is highly beneficial for people who suffer from consistent muscle pain. This can be caused by work related postural problems, leisure activities, sports and exercise related injuries, and can also be the end -result of long-term emotional stress and tension.

A 30min facial massage which stimulates circulation bringing nutrients to the surface, drains lymph, and relieves tension. My holistic approach is designed to stimulate your skin naturally, rather than through the use of products. I end with a mask and rose hip oil moisturiser which is full of anti - oxidants. Your skin will feel soft, nourished, plumper with a lovely glow.
